These photographs were taken whilst still a photographic student. They form part of a series documenting the North East of England.

They document life as it was in the colliery, a few years before the pit was closed. It is the first time the photographs have been exhibited. The negatives were only recently digitised as part of a more general series documenting the North East of England.

These have now been published as a Café Royal publication.
