Newcastle Town Moor

Newcastle Town Moor fair (or ‘The Hoppings’, as it is locally known) is one of Europe’s largest travelling funfairs. It takes place annually on the Town Moor in Newcastle upon Tyne. It dates back to 1882 and in its early years consisted of a flea circus, freak animal shows and traditional boxing booths. Today this has been replaced by ghost trains, white knuckle rides and funhouses.
